DELIVERABLE 2.3 | October 2023
Introduction of the report
On May 3, 2023, the READY4DC project consortium conducted its second dissemination event online to enhance stakeholder participation. The event aimed to showcase the ongoing project activities to a broad audience of relevant stakeholders, raising awareness about the work undertaken in each Working Group (WG). Additionally, the event sought to drive discussions on the challenges associated with an interoperable, multi-vendor High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) system. Its goal was to facilitate the formation of a community of experts who would develop recommendations for an interoperable and expandable Direct Current (DC) grid in Europe.
Key objectives of the event included:
- Providing updates on the progress of each WG to participants.
- Engaging experts from diverse sectors such as HVDC technology manufacturers, Transmission System Operators, the wind energy industry, policymakers, system integrators, and academia in discussions on interoperability, DC technology, and the future of the European grid.
- Presenting the preliminary findings of the four whitepapers published by the project WGs.
This report, identified as deliverable D5.5 within Work Package 5, Task 5.2, summarizes the discussions held during the second stakeholder engagement event. It comments on the involvement of relevant stakeholders, reflects on audience comments and questions, and recommends how the outcomes of the discussion can be utilized by the READY4DC consortium and its WGs.
